The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Benson (HRAB) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for senior/disabled/single occupancy households.


Please note: The HRAB does not offer a Public Housing program for families.


The HRAB offers one Public Housing community with 94 units for senior/disabled/single occupancy households.


There are two ways to apply:

  1. Visit the HRAB to pick up a pre-application, located at 300 13th Street North, Benson, MN 56215, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm CT, Monday-Friday.
  2. Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (320) 842-8481 from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

Once the pre-application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.


Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards, birth certificates, proof of all income, photo IDs for all adult household members, and bank statements.


The HRAB does have a preference for: Elderly, disabled, and single individuals.
