The Rice County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications on a limited basis from April 29, 2022, until June 29, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the HRA, "Applications will only be accepted from people who either live or work in Rice County.  You will be required to provide proof of residency."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Resident of Rice County: Families that have permanent, sole place of residency in Rice County or have a household member that works in Rice County at the time of application. 

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preferences.

Open Until Further Notice: Spring Creek ll Townhomes Section 8 Project-Based Voucher Waiting List

The Rice County Housing (HRA) is accepting Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for 3 and 4-Bedroom apartments at Spring Creek ll from April 25, 2023 at 8:00 am CT, until further notice.

Please note: According to the HRA notice "Application will only be accepted from families eligible for the Rice County residency preference and will only be accepted from families who qualify for three or four bedrooms."

There are two ways to  apply during the opening period:

  1. Print the paper application.
  2. Pick up an application in person from the HRA office, Rice County Government Services Building, located at 320 Third St. NW, Faribault.

Once the paper application is completed, it must be either:

  1. Emailed to section8waitinglist@co.rice.mn.us.
  2. Faxed to 507-333-3838.
  3. Mailed to the HRA office, address mentioned above.
  4. Hand delivered to HRA office, address mentioned above.

This waiting list has the following preferences: 

  • Resident of Rice County 
    • Families that have permanent, sole place of residency in Rice County or have a household member that works in Rice County at the time of application.

It is not yet known how selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Resident of Rice County Transitioning out of institutional and other segregated settings, at serious risk of institutionalization, homeless, orat risk of becoming homeless

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preferences.
