Please note: The Chappell Housing Authority Public Housing program is managed by Housing Partners of Western Nebraska.Housing Partners of Western Nebraska (HPWN) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled households.Please note: This waiting list has preferences. This means that applicants who qualify for these preferences will receive assistance before applicants who do not. Because of these preferences, applicants who do not qualify may have a longer wait to receive assistance.The HPWN offers family and senior/disabled household communities, ranging in size from 1 to 4 bedrooms, located throughout Scotts Bluff County, including Gering, Terry Town, Morrill, Minatare, Bridgeport, and Chappell.There are two ways to apply:

  1. Visit the HPWN main office to pick up an application, located at 89A Woodley Park Road, Gering, NE 69341, from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm MT, Monday-Thursday.
  2. Download an application here, then print and complete.
  3. Call the HAPWN office at (308) 632-0473 to find out when a staff member will be at one of the branch offices to submit an application.
Once the application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm, Monday-Thursday.Be sure to include these documents with the application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, Government issues ID for all adult household members, if receiving; Social Security, Workmans Compensation, Unemployemployment, or TANF, you must bring in the award letter. You will be given an interview the same day you hand in the application, so please do not bring any children. All adults must be present. Please note: If you do not have all of the documents listed, the HPWN will give you two weeks to turn it in. If you fail to turn it in within the two weeks, your application will be withdrawn.The HPWN does have a preference for elderly and disabled.Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list.
