How To Apply to the Public Housing Waiting List
The Williamston Housing Authority (WHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.
The WHA offers one Public Housing community with 150 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.
To apply for Public Housing, visit the WHA to pick up an application, located at 504 E Main Street, Williamston, NC, between the hours of 8:00 am until 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm until 5:30 pm, Monday-Thursday.
Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above. No documents are needed at this time.
The WHA does not have a preference: Your application is placed by date and time received.

Household Characteristics of Voucher Holders for Williamston Housing Authority

According to the 2016 Q4 Picture of Subsidized Households database, the housing authority's voucher program has an annual turnover of 5% having issued approximately 22 vouchers in the past year. Heads of Household Characteristics
4% of households were headed by a person 24 years old or less, 61% were headed by a person 25 to 49 years old, 13% were headed by a person 51 to 60 years old, and 21% were headed by a person 62 years old or older. In addition, 2% of households were headed by a person 85 years old or older.
59% of households included children, 2% of which had two adults in the household. 59% of households with children have a female head of household. 95% of all households were headed by a female.
