How To Apply to the Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List


The Ponca City Housing Authority (PCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. This waiting list is open indefinitely.



Ponca City, OK is about 90 miles northwest of Tulsa, OK.


To apply, visit the PCHA office to pick up a pre-application, located at 201 E Broadway Ave., Ponca City, OK 74601, from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm CT, Monday-Friday.


Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday.


Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, photo IDs for all adult household members, bank statements, and proof of all income.


The PCHA does not have a preference.


Applicants will receive a confirmation number upon submitting the pre-application. It is important to keep that number in a safe, easy to access place. It will be needed any time when referencing your pre-application with the housing authority.


Qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the pre-application is received.


The wait time for a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher is approximately 10 to 14 months.

The PCHA offers one Public Housing community with 175 units for families and senior/disabled households, ranging in size from studios to 4 bedrooms.

Heads of Household Characteristics

2% of households were headed by a person 24 years old or less, 15% were headed by a person 25 to 49 years old, 20% were headed by a person 51 to 60 years old, and 64% were headed by a person 62 years old or older. In addition, 8% of households were headed by a person 85 years old or older.

14% of households included children, 2% of which had two adults in the household. 11% of households with children have a female head of household. 79% of all households were headed by a female.

16% of all voucher households were headed by minorities with 9% of all heads of households being Black and -1% being Hispanic.
