The Altoona Housing Authority Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed as of December 2025. The next reopening date has not been announced.

The Altoona Housing Authority (AHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from May 8, 2024, until May 22, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply while the waitlist was open:

1. Call AHA to request an application.
2. Pick up an application in person at the AHA office.

Once the paper application was completed, it was to be either:

1. Hand delivered to the AHA office.
2. Postmarked and mailed to the AHA office.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Live, have lived, or work in Altoona.
• Working at least 20 or more hours every week
• Veteran

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.

The Altoona Housing Authority (AHA) last accepted waiting list applications for Pleasant Village Apartments from the earliest confirmed open date of October 9, 2023, until further notice. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

This waiting list was for the following property:

• Pleasant Village - located in Altoona, PA. Offering 1, 2 and 3-bedroom units.

There were two ways to apply while the waitlist was open:

1. Call the AHA to request an application.
2. Pick up an application at the Pleasant Village Office .

It was not known how to submit the paper application after it was completed.
