How To Apply to the Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Elizabethton Housing & Development Agency (EHDA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. This waiting list is open indefinitely.

Elizabethton, TN is about 110 miles northeast of Knoxville, TN.

To apply, pick up an application at the EHDA office, located at 910 Pine Ridge Circle, Elizabethton, TN 37644. Applications are accepted on Thursdays 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. & 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.  Applicants MUST apply in person. You must speak to the Section 8 Housing Specialist. Applications that are dropped off or mailed will not be accepted.

Once the application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address above at the times above.

The following documentation is required of all members of the household: Proof of birth, Social Security Cards, Photo ID, proof of income. Further explanation of proof of income can be found here.

Applicants will receive a confirmation number upon submitting the pre-application. It is important to keep that number in a safe, easy to access place. It will be needed any time when referencing your pre-application with the housing authority.

Qualified applications will be placed on the waiting list by date and time of the pre-application submission.

How To Apply to the Public Housing Waiting List

The Elizabethton Housing & Development Agency (EHDA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households.

The EHA offers one Public Housing community with 324 units for families and senior/disabled households.

To apply, download the pre-application online here, then print and complete.

Once the application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to 910 Pine Ridge Circle, Elizabethton, TN  37644, from 7:30 am until 10:30 am EDT on Wednesdays; and from 7:30 am until 10:30 am, and 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm on Thursdays

Be sure to include these documents with your application: Birth certificates, Social Security Cards, proof of all income, photo IDs for all adult household members, and references.

2% of households were headed by a person 24 years old or less, 50% were headed by a person 25 to 49 years old, 24% were headed by a person 51 to 60 years old, and 24% were headed by a person 62 years old or older. In addition, 2% of households were headed by a person 85 years old or older.

43% of households included children, 10% of which had two adults in the household. 38% of households with children have a female head of household. 78% of all households were headed by a female.

5% of all voucher households were headed by minorities with 5% of all heads of households being Black and -1% being Hispanic.
