Burg Jones is located within walking distance of Berg Jones Lane Elementary School and Shopping Centers. This community is home to 302 duplex-family and single-family residences with one to five bedroom floor plans available.
The Henrietta Johnson Recreation Center is also within walking distance offering youths a wide variety of Activities and Summer Programs including a Playground and Swimming Pool. Through Partnership with the Northeast Louisiana Family Literacy Consortium through the Ouachita Parish School System, MHA’s Burg Jones Community hosts the Adult Literacy/GED Program. Each residence is equipped with a range/oven; frost-free refrigerator/freezer; central heat and air; privacy blinds; smoke alarms; washer and dryer connections; outside storage; cable ready wall outlets; and, lawn care is included. Required utilities are electricity; gas; and, water.
Pets are allowed with deposit (some restrictions apply).

This property is funded through HUD’s Public Housing program. These properties are typically owned and managed by a Public Housing Authority. These properties tend to be much older, as no new public housing has been built in many years. Since the Federal budget has historically (and notoriously) underfunded public housing renovations for decades, these properties tend to have higher vacancies due to uninhabitable units or liveable units that are in poor condition. In addition, since all public housing properties offer rent subsidies, low-income residents only pay rent based on their incomes. For that reason, these properties tend to have longer waiting lists.
