In 1986 Cheshire opened the first of two small community-based homes, Cheshire II, in Parsippany, Cheshire II for six tenants. Cheshire III in Florham Park opened in 2003, housing eight tenants. These community homes were established in order to provide a comfortable, fully accessible residence for young men and women with physical disabilities who do not require 24- hour nursing care.
