Founded by parents of children with Autism, Breakthrough Corporation, a non-profit agency, provides support services for adults with autism, including supportive affordable housing made up of 7 homes on Thurman Lane, in South Knoxville, and an additional 6 supported homes in and around the Knoxville metro area. The Residential Program includes 24/7 support for the residents. Skilled staff transport and support the persons served to the degree they require assistance.

Some of the units at this property have received funding through HUD's Section 811 Project Rental Assistance (PRA) Program. For these PRA funded units, tenants must be extremely low-income (at or below 30% of Area Median Income) and at least one adult member of the household must have a disability. The person with the disability must be eligible for community-based, long-term services as provided under the state’s plan for medical assistance under Title XIX of the Social Security Act (Medicaid), state funded services or other appropriate services defined in the written partnership agreement.
Generally, households earning up to the income limit in the table below for their household size are eligible for units participating in a HUD rental assistance program in Knoxville but actual income limits may differ for units at Breakthrough Homes.
