The Wilson Housing Authority (WHA) is accepting Senior (62+) waiting list applications for 1 and 2-Bedroom apartments at Varita Court Apartments from April 2, 2024 , until further notice.

Preferences

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Involuntary Displacement
  • Veteran/Homeless
  • Working FamilyDefined as being self-employed, working an average of 20 hours or more a week for at least 11 months, or being seasonally employed for 2 years with the current employer and working 20 hours a week or more). Includes persons 62 years or older.

Selection Process

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list, by order of preferences.

Application Method

There are two ways to apply while the waiting list is open:

  1. Print the paper application.
  2. Pick up an application Monday-Thursday, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm ET, at one of the following locations:
  • WHA Admin office- 301 E. Nash St, Elm City, NC 27822.

Once the paper application has been completed, it must be either:

  1.  Hand delivered to the address mentioned above.
  2. Email the application to jcrouell@wilsonha.org.

Varita Court Senior Applicant Preferences

Varita Court has preferences for: Elderly, Displaced by Natural Disaster, Veterans, Working/Employed, Homeless, Displaced by Government Action. Preferences are not required but Senior applicants that meet these criteria will be moved up the waiting list.
