The Highlands Housing Authority (HHA) is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The HHA offers one family community with 30 units, and one community dedicated to senior/disabled individuals with 95 units.There are two ways to apply:1. Visit the HHA to pick up an application, located at 215 Shore Dr., Highlands, NJ 07732, during normal office hours.2. Request an application be mailed to you by calling 732-872-2022 during normal office hours.Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above. Be sure to include copies of these documents with your application: birth certificates, social security cards, photo IDs for all adult household members, and proof of income.The HHA does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: live and/or work in Highlands, elderly, disabled, victim of domestic violence, or displaced.More information can be found by visiting the HHA website at http://www.highlandshousingauthority.org/, or by calling 732-872-2022 during normal office hours.
Highlands Housing Authority has preferences for: Elderly, Displaced by Natural Disaster, Victims of Domestic Violence, Live, Work, or Attend School Locally, Displaced by Government Action, Disabled. Preferences are not required but Public Housing applicants that meet these criteria will be moved up the waiting list.

Preferences are not a requirement.
