The Housing Authority of the City of Cairo (HACC) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The HACC offers one Public Housing community with 185 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.To apply, visit the HACC to submit an application, located at 224 6th Ave. NE, Cairo, GA 39828, from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm (closed from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm) on Tuesdays only.Be sure to bring these documents with you when applying: birth certificates, social security cards, proof of all income, and photo IDs for all adult household members. All adult household members must be present when submitting an application.The HACC does have a preference for working families, victims of domestic violence, elderly, and disabled individuals.For more information, the HACC can be reached by calling (229) 377-2065 from 7:00 am until 4:30 pm, Monday-Thursday, and from 7:00 am until 11:00 am on Fridays.
