The Macon Housing Authority (MHA) last accepted Public Housing waiting list applications from April 5, 2024, until April 12, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: "Public Housing has several scattered sites within the portfolio in various neighborhoods with bedroom sizes ranging from 1-5 bedrooms."

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Working families
  • Elderly/Disabled families receiving benefits
  • Families receiving other types of income 
  • Homeless families

It was not known how applicants were placed on the waiting list, by order of preferences.

There were three ways to apply while the waitlist was open:

Once the paper application was completed, it was to be either:
