1-Bedroom Public Housing Waiting List is Closed as of February 2025. The waiting list was last open in May 2021 and remains closed.

The Bloomington Housing Authority (BHA) Public Housing waiting list for 1-Bedroom apartments is currently closed. Applications were last accepted on May 18, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete an online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Live in Monroe County, Indiana
• Live in the surrounding counties of Owen, Greene, Lawrence, Brown or Morgan
• Current member of the U.S. Military Armed Forces, a veteran of the U.S. Military Armed Forces or a surviving spouse of a veteran
• Household include a disabled individual
• Work 35 hours or more per week or the head and spouse, or sole member, are elderly (62 years of age or older) or disabled
• Work 20-34 hours per week
• Resident of Monroe or a surrounding county whose primary nighttime dwelling is one of the following: a supervised public or private shelter designed to provide temporary living accommodations (includes welfare hotels, congregate shelters and transitional housing) or a public or private place not designed for, or ordinarily used as, a regular sleeping place for human beings

It was not known how applicants were placed on the waiting list.
