OPEN: Walker County Housing Authority is currently open and does not have a predetermined closing date.

The Walker County Housing Authority (WCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open until further notice.

There are two ways to apply:

1. Visit the WCHA office to pick up a pre-application, located at 2084 Horsecreek Blvd, Dora, AL 35062, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm CT, Monday-Thursday.
2. Download the pre-application online, then print and complete.

Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm on Wednesdays only.

Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, photo IDs for all household members aged 16 years or older, marriage license (if applicable), school records for any household member attending school, bank account information, veteran (if applicable), food stamp information ( if applicable), current landlord information, divorce papers (if applicable).

The following preferences have been identified: elderly, disabled, involuntarily displaced, substandard living, rent burdened, live in Walker County, veteran, on the waiting list for more than half a year.
