Today, Affordable Housing Online has two waiting list updates for Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers! Our Thursday alert is for low-income rental assistance in the Northeast and Northwest.
This is your affordable housing waiting list alert for Thursday, June 20, 2024:
Opens Today: Township of Montclair, New Jersey Section 8 Voucher Waiting List (Now Closed)
Update: At 9:30 am, our team confirmed this waiting list is now closed.
For our first update, the Montclair Housing Authority (MHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications beginning on June 20, 2024 at 8:30 am ET, until 225 applications have been received. This is the first time the waiting list has opened since 2007.
With only 225 spots available for applications, this waiting list is expected to close soon after it opens. There are seven preferences, such as senior, disabled, and local applicants. To apply, an online application must be submitted to the housing authority.

Closes Today: Snohomish County, Washington Section 8 Voucher Waiting List
As our other update for the day, the Housing Authority of Snohomish County (HASCO) is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications until June 20, 2024 at 3:00 pm PT. This is the first time the waiting list has been open since it closed in May, 2023.
After the waiting list closes, 500 applicants will be selected by random lottery. As of the writing of this article, preferences have not been confirmed.
