For our last alert of the week, Affordable Housing Online has seven waiting list updates for Section 8 and Project-Based Vouchers! Today's alert is for low-income housing mostly in the South and Southeast – and also on the West Coast.

These waiting lists have been been closed for application submissions, and open today. Most waiting lists openings are only for a limited time, so don't delay if any of these housing opportunities are right for you.
Opens Today: Thibodaux, Louisiana Section 8 Voucher Waiting List
Starting off, the City of Thibodaux Office of Housing and Community Development (HCD) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from June 21, 2024 at 8:00 am CT, until 100 applications are accepted. This is the first time the waiting list has been open since it closed in May, 2023.
Applicants must call the housing authority to apply. If you get a busy signal, keep calling until you reach a representative. Since only 100 applications are being accepted, it's expected this waiting list will not be open for long.

Opens Today: Tallahassee, Florida Project-Based Voucher Waiting List
There's one other opening today with the Tallahassee Housing Authority (THA). The THA is accepting Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications from 1, 2 and 3-Bedroom apartments from Goodbread Apartments from June 21, until July 20, 2024.
This waiting list uses an online application only, and sorting will be done by random lottery.

These waiting lists opened on a previous day, and close today. Even though a number of applications have already been submitted, it is still possible to qualify for these waiting lists.
Close Today: Fort Worth, Texas Section 8 Voucher Waiting Lists
Two Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting lists are being closed today by Fort Worth Housing Solutions (FWHS). These waiting lists originally opened June 10, but according to the housing authority, they had to reopen due to a glitch.
First, FWHS is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications until June 21, 2024 at 11:59 pm CT.

Also, FWHS is accepting Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications until June 21, 2024 at 11:59 pm CT.
Applicants must meet the Mainstream Voucher requirements to qualify.

These waiting lists were just discovered by the housing experts at Affordable Housing Online, and open soon. Make sure you get everything you need to know to apply before these waiting lists open.
Opens Soon: Nash and Edgecombe County, North Carolina Section 8 Voucher Waiting List
The Nash-Edgecombe Wilson Community Action, Inc (NEWCA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from July 10, 2024, until 500 applications have been received.
This is the only information known about this opening, except that it will have an online application.

Opens Soon: North Bay, California Project-Based Voucher Waiting List
The Sonoma County Housing Authority (SCHA) will accept Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list applications for 3-Bedroom apartments at Multiple Properties from July 1, 2024, until July 31, 2024. This is the first time the waiting list has been open since it closed in September, 2021.
This waiting list is for Section 8 Project-Based Voucher rental housing assistance in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Petaluma, Guerneville, Windsor and Healdsburg, California.

Opens Soon: Galveston, Texas Project-Based Voucher Waiting List
The Galveston Housing Authority (GHA) will accept Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for 2 and 4-Bedroom Apartments from July 9, until July 11, 2024.
An online application must be completed for this waiting list, but no other information is known.
