Editor's Note: FEMA recovery assistance for residents is currently only available in certain Oregon counties. Even though there are recent FEMA wildfire management efforts in California, Colorado, Montana, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming, disaster assistance for residents has not yet been approved for any of these areas.
As wildfires spread throughout the west coast, the president approved a Major Disaster Declaration for several Oregon counties yesterday. Residents in these areas can now apply for assistance such as temporary housing and home repairs.
Oregon residents who have been affected by wildfires dating back to September 7, 2020 can apply for assistance if their county has been declared eligible for the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Individual Assistance program.

This is a Public Assistance service for state, tribal, and local governments to actively manage the threat. It does not offer emergency services to individuals.
