Nearing the end of the week, Affordable Housing Online has six waiting list updates for Section 8 and Project-Based Vouchers! Today's alert is for low-income rental housing in the East Coast, West Coast, and Midwest.

This is your affordable housing waiting list alert for Thursday, June 27, 2024:

Waiting Lists Closing June 27

These waiting lists opened on a previous day, and are scheduled to close today. Even though a number of applications have already been submitted, it is still possible to qualify for these waiting lists.

Boise City and Ada County, Idaho Limited Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority (BCACHA) is set to close its limited Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list on June 27, 2024. This is the first time the list has been available since February 2022.

The restrictions for this waiting list include being over 18, having a low income (50% or below the Area Median Income), qualifying for Idaho residency, and meeting specific household conditions such as having elderly members, disabled members, or children under 18.

This waiting list has four preferences, and will select 2,500 applicants through a random lottery. To apply, you must use the online application method, as paper applications are not available. Computers are provided at the BCACHA office for those without access.

Richmond, California Project-Based Voucher Waiting Lists

Staying on the western side of the country, the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa (HACCC) will stop accepting applications for two separate Section 8 Project-Based Voucher programs.

Applications for the Family and Senior waiting lists can be submitted until June 27, 2024 The Family waiting list is for properties across Richmond and San Pablo, CA, offering units ranging from studios to four bedrooms.

For seniors, applications are also open during the same period for properties located in Antioch, Richmond, El Cerrito, and other areas, requiring that applicants be 62 years of age or older.

The preferences and selection method have not been confirmed for either waiting list.

Tallahassee, Florida Senior Project-Based Voucher Waiting List

The Tallahassee Housing Authority (THA) is also closing its Senior Section 8 Project-Based Voucher Program waiting list on June 27, 2024 for studio and 1-bedroom apartments at Westminster Gardens.

Income limits and application details are available on the THA website, and like the others, the selection process will involve a random lottery without confirmed preferences yet. Applicants must apply online during the open period.

Waiting Lists Opening June 27

These waiting lists open today after being closed for application submissions for a period of time. Most of these openings are only for a limited time, so don't delay if an opportunity is right for you.

North Bay, California Senior and Disabled Project-Based Voucher Waiting List

The Marin Housing Authority (MHA) is opening its Senior and Disabled Public Housing waiting list for studio apartments at several properties from June 27, 2024, at 10:00 am, to July 11, 2024 at 11:59 pm PT. This is the first time the list has been open since May 2023.

The properties include Casa Nova, Golden Hinde, Venetia Oaks, Kruger Pines, and Homestead Terrace, all located in various parts of Marin County, CA. Applicants must meet specific income qualifications based on household size, with varying maximum limits.

The waiting list has several preferences, and selected applicants will be ordered based on the date and time received, adjusted for these preferences. Interested tenants can apply online or directly at the MHA office locations in Marin City and San Rafael.

Panama City, Florida Project-Based Voucher Waiting List

Also, the Panama City Housing Authority (PCHA) will begin accepting applications for its Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list for Fletcher Black Apartments and The Park at Massalina starting June 27, 2024, at 8:00 am CT.

This waiting list will close once 100 applications have been received. Located in Panama City, FL, both properties cater to preferences such as elderly or disabled individuals and those already participating in public housing or living in Bay County.

While the exact order of selection based on these preferences is not specified, interested applicants are encouraged to apply promptly online given the limited number of slots available.
