The Houghton Housing Commission (HHC) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The HHC offers one Public Housing community with 70 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.There are three ways to apply:1. Visit the HHC to pick up a pre-application, located at 401 E. Montezuma Avenue, Houghton, MI 49931, from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.2. Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (906) 482-0334 from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.3. Download a pre-application here, then print and complete.Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above, or faxed to (906) 487-5936. No documents are needed at this time.The HHC does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: Employed at least 20 hours a week, involuntarily displaced, homeless, substandard living conditions, veteran, elderly, disabled, rent burden, live and/or work in Houghton, or in a child reunification program.More information can be found by visiting the HHC website, or by calling (906) 482-0334 from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
