How To Apply to the Public Housing Waiting List
The Port Jervis Housing Authority is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.
The waiting list for public housing is approximately two years.
This housing authority has one apartment community with 25 units dedicated to families, and 50 units dedicated to senior/disabled individuals.
There are two ways to apply for public housing:
1. Stop in the housing authority office, to pick up an application, located at 39 Pennsylvania Ave. Port Jervis, NY 12771, during normal office hours, Monday-Friday.
2. Request to have an application mailed to you, by calling 845-856-8621, during normal office hours, Monday-Friday.
Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above. Be sure to include copies of these documents with your application: birth certificates, social security cards, proof of all income, photo IDs for all adult household members.
This housing authority does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: living and/or working in Port Jervis, disabled, or elderly.

Applicants who need help completing the application due to disability can make a reasonable accommodation request to the housing authority via (845)856-8621.
