Public Housing Agencies, commonly referred to as Housing Authorities and abbreviated as PHAs, are federally funded and regulated organizations tasked with developing long-term, sustainable housing strategies for the communities they serve.
Housing authorities offer many services for those within their jurisdiction, most notably the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing programs. Each housing authority participates in a different array of programs to best meet the needs of their community.
