How To Apply to the Senior and Disabled Public Housing Waiting List
The
New London Housing Authority (NLHA) is
currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for senior/disabled households.
Please note: The NLHA does not offer a Public Housing program for families.
The NLHA offers one Public Housing community with 62 units for senior/disabled households.
There are two ways to apply:
- Visit the NLHA to pick up a pre-application, located at 505 Division St., New London, WI 54961, during normal office hours.
- Request to have a pre-applicaiton mailed to you by calling (920) 982-8509 during normal office hours.
Once the pre-application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.
No documents are needed at this time.
The NLHA does have a preference for applicants that live and/or work in New London.

The New London Housing Authority (NLHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open until further notice.

As of July 2017, the NLHA is not issuing vouchers due to lack of funds.

Household Characteristics of Voucher Holders for New London Housing Authority
Waiting List and Tenancy
According to the 2016 Q4 Picture of Subsidized Households database, the housing authority's voucher program has an annual turnover of 27% having issued approximately 2 vouchers in the past year. The average voucher holder has received housing benefits for 5 years and 8 months. According to the 2016 PSH database, persons who were issued a voucher in the preceding 12 months waited an average of 3 months on the waiting list1.

Heads of Household Characteristics
3% of households were headed by a person 24 years old or less, 45% were headed by a person 25 to 49 years old, 21% were headed by a person 51 to 60 years old, and 31% were headed by a person 62 years old or older. In addition, 6% of households were headed by a person 85 years old or older.
33% of households included children, 3% of which had two adults in the household. 30% of households with children have a female head of household. 78% of all households were headed by a female.
7% of all voucher households were headed by minorities with 3% of all heads of households being Black and -1% being Hispanic.
