The Anaheim Housing Authority (AHA) waiting list for Senior (62+) Section 8 Project-Based Voucher apartments at El Verano is currently open on a limited basis. Applications are being accepted since at least March, 2018, until further notice.
Please note: According to the AHA, applicants must "Applicants must be at least 62 years old to apply. The waiting list will only be open for those who qualify for the Live or Work in Anaheim preference."

El Verano Apartments is a 54-unit affordable senior community located in the heart of southern Anaheim. The three-story, Spanish-style building is home to formerly homeless and low-income seniors, and consists of 1- and 2-bedroom units, and an array of outdoor and community amenities. All units are mobility accessible and thoughtfully designed to enhance the quality of life for residents.
Because El Verano Senior Apartments participates in HUD's HOME program for rental housing and the LIHTC program, at least some of the units in this property are set aside for households earning 60% or less of the AMI and rents are capped at the local FMR and in many cases much lower. For a HOME project of this size, some of the units are set aside for households at or below 50% AMI with a corresponding lower rent cap. As this property appears not to have a project-based subsidy or any other Federal assistance, you likely will have to pay your own rent, albeit, at a lower rent amount thanks to the HOME and LIHTC programs. Since this property participates in the HOME and LIHTC programs, the property is required to accept Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.
