About Colma Ridge

Colma Ridge is the result of a partnership between MidPen Housing and the County of San Mateo to create housing for low-income residents with special needs and developmental disabilities who are able to live independently. Colma Ridge provides 20 one-bedroom units in a welcoming community located just one block from the Colma BART station. Resident services are provided by CAMINAR, through a contract with the County of San Mateo Mental Health Services. Additionally, the affordable housing community's apartments and grounds are managed and maintained by MidPen Property Management Corp. Colma Ridge received a Maxwell Award of Excellence Honorable Mention from the Fannie Mae Foundation in 1998.

Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities

Since this property was built using funding through HUD's Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities program, residency is restricted to persons who earn 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) or less. Like other rental assistance programs like Section 8, resident's rents are based on their income and the tenant contribution is set at 30% of the tenants income.

Colma Ridge receives rental subsidies through HUD-Assisted Housing for some or all of its apartments. Some units may be designated as market rate housing.

You can make up to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) and be eligible for a HUD-Assisted Housing unit. Market rate units would have no subsidies or income restrictions.

Figuring out income and rent limits for affordable housing can be complex when more than one federal program is involved. To know for sure if you qualify, you must contact the property directly. The amounts provided here should only be used as a basic guide.
