The Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa (HACCC) last accepted Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list applications for Multiple Apartments from June 3, 2024, until July 18, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

This waiting list was for the following properties:

Chesley
Alvarado Gardens
The Terraces Family Apartments
Church Lane Apartments

According to the HACCC "The Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa (HACCC) noted that 3 of the 12 wait lists intended for accepting applications did not properly open for the application process. Accordingly, HACCC has extended the application deadline to 4:00 PM on July 18, 2024, to give applicants an opportunity to apply to those three wait lists. The wait lists that did not open were Casa Del Rio (Elderly), Friendship Manor (Elderly) and Hacienda Apartments (Elderly). If you are interested in living at any of these three properties, please log back into your RentCafé Applicant Portal and add them to the wait lists you wish to be considered for."

Because Chesley participates in HUD's HOME program for rental housing, at least some of the units in this property are set aside for households at or below 60% of the AMI and rents are capped at the local FMR and in many cases much lower. For a project of this size, some of the units are set aside for households at or below 50% AMI with a corresponding lower rent cap. As this property appears not to have a project-based subsidy or any other Federal assistance, you likely will have to pay your own rent, albeit, at a lower rent amount thanks to the HOME program. Since this property participates in the HOME program, the property is required to accept Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.
