Orlando Housing Authority Waiting List
The Orlando Housing Authority (OHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households.
The OHA offers 10 communities for families, and five apartment communities dedicated to senior/disabled households. You can view a complete listing of the communities here.
To apply, complete the online application here.
Once the application has been submitted, you will be given a confirmation number. Please write this number down, or print out the page for future reference.
The OHA has identified the following preferences: Owned a OHA home, displaced by government action, displaced by a natural disaster, disabled, employed at least 6 months, living in transitional housing, live/work/or have a verified job offer for employment in Orange County, or a veteran.
Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list. Contact the housing authority to find out how to update application information.
For more information, visit the OHA website, or call the office at (407) 895-3300.

Lorna Doone Apartments offer 104 Elderly units located in Orlando,FL.
This property is funded through HUD’s Public Housing program. These properties are typically owned and managed by a Public Housing Authority. These properties tend to be much older, as no new public housing has been built in many years. Since the Federal budget has historically (and notoriously) underfunded public housing renovations for decades, these properties tend to have higher vacancies due to uninhabitable units or liveable units that are in poor condition. In addition, since all public housing properties offer rent subsidies, low-income residents only pay rent based on their incomes. For that reason, these properties tend to have longer waiting lists. Check our public housing waiting list data for more information. Since Lorna Doone Apartments participates in the Public Housing program and has a property based subsidy, if you have a Section 8 voucher, you would have to give up your voucher to move in.
