Cary Senior Living
Cary, Illinois
62 or older community
The McHenry County Housing Authority has partnered with the Cary Senior Living apartment complex in Cary, IL to offer a limited number of one-bedroom project-based units.
This is a 62 or older community. All applicants must have income at or below 30% of Area Median Income. The site-based waiting list will contain a preference for persons referred from the Illinois Statewide Referral Network. If a person referred from the Illinois Statewide Referral Network is determined eligible by MCHA, the person will receive a preference for the next available identified project-based voucher unit in Cary Senior Living. Individuals and families who do not claim this preference will be placed on the waiting list in order of the date when their application was received by MCHA.
Because Cary Senior Living participates in HUD's HOME program for rental housing and the LIHTC program, at least some of the units in this property are set aside for households earning 60% or less of the AMI and rents are capped at the local FMR and in many cases much lower. For a HOME project of this size, some of the units are set aside for households at or below 50% AMI with a corresponding lower rent cap. As this property appears not to have a project-based subsidy or any other Federal assistance, you likely will have to pay your own rent, albeit, at a lower rent amount thanks to the HOME and LIHTC programs. Since this property participates in the HOME and LIHTC programs, the property is required to accept Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.
