Since this property is a LIHTC property that might not have a project based rental assistance contract, it is likely that it either has no waiting list or the waiting list is shorter than properties with rental assistance. You should contact the property to verify.
Note: Affordable Housing Online has not confirmed the waiting list status directly with the property. This waiting list status forecast is based on our housing experts' knowledge of similar properties. You should always confirm this status directly with the property.
Bridgeview, sometimes referred to as TILL 330, welcomed residents to 61 affordable apartments during the winter of 2016/2017. It is located in Charlestown, handy to downtown Boston, public transportation and highways. The building boasts a wonderful view of the Zakim bridge. It also includes a five-bed, 24/7 supportive services facility, and a 64-car parking garage.
Toward Independent Living and Learning (TILL) owns the building and recently celebrated 37 years serving individuals with disabilities, including brain injuries, mental health issues, developmental disabilities and autism. The agency provides educational opportunities, job training, camps, sports and fitness, and much more, including confidence and trust. TMLLC also manages the TILL building in Chelsea, which includes 23 affordable apartments and the celebrated Essence of Thyme Café and Catering, an innovative vocational center and entrepreneurial venture.
Bridgeview comprises 77,000 square feet on Rutherford Avenue in Sullivan Square, a Charlestown Urban Renewal Area that had belonged to the Boston Redevelopment Authority. The five-bed adult supportive services facility has 2,500 square feet, and there is 10,000 square feet of community space.
Nine apartments are designated as rent-assisted, another 9 are for individuals earning less than 50% of Area Median Income (AMI), and 17 are for individuals earning less than 60% of AMI. There are 4 one-bedroom, 19 two-bedroom, and 15 three-bedroom apartments.
Contact management for more information about joining the wait list for apartments.
Because Bridgeview Apartments participates in HUD's HOME program for rental housing and the LIHTC program, at least some of the units in this property are set aside for households earning 60% or less of the AMI and rents are capped at the local FMR and in many cases much lower. For a HOME project of this size, some of the units are set aside for households at or below 50% AMI with a corresponding lower rent cap. As this property appears not to have a project-based subsidy or any other Federal assistance, you likely will have to pay your own rent, albeit, at a lower rent amount thanks to the HOME and LIHTC programs. Since this property participates in the HOME and LIHTC programs, the property is required to accept Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.
