Multiple Properties Waiting List

The Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh (HACP) is accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for Multiple Properties from May 29, 2024, until further notice.

This waiting list is for the following properties:

Allegheny Dwellings – located at 1710 Belleau Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Offering 2-bedroom units.
Arlington Heights – located at 3123 Cordell Pl, Pittsburgh, PA 15210. Offering 2-bedroom units.
Bedford Dwellings – located at 2305 Bedford Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Offering 2- and 3-bedroom units.
Northview Heights – located at 533 Mt Pleasant Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15214. Offering 2-bedroom units.
Scattered Sites – located through out Pittsburgh. Offering 2-bedroom units.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

Disabled
Elderly
Veteran

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

There are four ways to apply while the waitlist is open:

Print the paper application that will be available on the HACP website.
Email Occupancy@hacp.org to request an application.
Pick up an application in person at the HACP One-stop Shop, located at 412 Boulevard of the Allies, 1st Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Call the Occupancy Department at 412-456-5030 to request an application.

Once the application has been completed, it must be either:

Emailed to Occupancy@hacp.org.
Faxed to (412) 456-5182.
Turn in at the the HACP One-stop Shop, located at 412 Boulevard of the Allies, 1st Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Mailed to the HACP Occupancy Department, 100 Ross Street, 4th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
Dropped off at the HACP Occupancy Department drop box, located 100 Ross Street, 4th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

Nestled in the hills off of Federal Street, Allegheny Dwellings' scenic park-like setting rivals more upscale apartment complexes. Offering one- and two-bedroom units exclusively, Allegheny Dwellings is a great choice for singles and small families. The addition of the fitness center with a boxing emphasis can help you and your children to obtain fitness and health goals. The BJWL offers a year-round after-school and summer academic program for youth ages 5 – 12 years. Its closeness to the lower Northside with its numerous shops, restaurants and attractions makes Allegheny Dwellings a great place to live.

Dave's Thoughts On Allegheny Dwellings

This property is funded through HUD’s Public Housing program. These properties are typically owned and managed by a Public Housing Authority. These properties tend to be much older, as no new public housing has been built in many years. Since the Federal budget has historically (and notoriously) underfunded public housing renovations for decades, these properties tend to have higher vacancies due to uninhabitable units or liveable units that are in poor condition. In addition, since all public housing properties offer rent subsidies, low-income residents only pay rent based on their incomes. For that reason, these properties tend to have longer waiting lists. Since Allegheny Dwellings participates in the Public Housing program and has a property based subsidy, if you have a Section 8 voucher, you would have to give up your voucher to move in.
