Multiple Properties Waiting List

The Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh (HACP) is accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for Multiple Properties from May 29, 2024, until further notice.

This waiting list is for the following properties:

Allegheny Dwellings – located at 1710 Belleau Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Offering 2-bedroom units.
Arlington Heights – located at 3123 Cordell Pl, Pittsburgh, PA 15210. Offering 2-bedroom units.
Bedford Dwellings – located at 2305 Bedford Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Offering 2- and 3-bedroom units.
Northview Heights – located at 533 Mt Pleasant Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15214. Offering 2-bedroom units.
Scattered Sites – located through out Pittsburgh. Offering 2-bedroom units.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

Elderly
Veteran

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

There are four ways to apply while the waitlist is open:

Print the paper application that will be available on the HACP website.
Email Occupancy@hacp.org to request an application.
Pick up an application in person at the HACP One-stop Shop, located at 412 Boulevard of the Allies, 1st Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Call the Occupancy Department at 412-456-5030 to request an application.

Once the application has been completed, it must be either:

Emailed to Occupancy@hacp.org.
Faxed to (412) 456-5182.
Turn in at the the HACP One-stop Shop, located at 412 Boulevard of the Allies, 1st Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Mailed to the HACP Occupancy Department, 100 Ross Street, 4th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

This LIHTC property is among the most common types of affordable rental housing in the United States. The LIHTC program only provides subsidies to the building’s owner at construction. No subsidies are provided directly to the residents, but the owner must set rents affordable to low-income renters in the area. Our data suggests Allegheny Dwellings does not participate in any project-based rent subsidy program. This means you must earn enough to pay the full rent or have your own Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher. For that reason, LIHTC properties tend to have shorter waiting lists or even none at all. LIHTC properties nationwide are required to accept housing vouchers. LIHTC properties were first built in the late 1980's. Because they tend to be newer, these properties are more likely to have larger units, more amenities, and greater tenant service offerings than other affordable housing programs. This property might be right for you if you have a housing voucher or enough income to pay rent, are looking for a high quality property, or need immediate availability. Since this property participates in the LIHTC program, the property is required to accept Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. As a LIHTC property that chose the 40/60 election, this property has agreed to set aside at least 40% of its units for families and individuals earning 60% of Area Median Income (AMI).
