Built in 2015 and designated as permanent supportive housing (PSH), Commerce Village offers affordable housing to chronically homeless and medically vulnerable individuals, and chronically homeless veterans in our community. These 30 one-bedroom apartments are central located within the City of Harrisonburg and provide easy access to public transportation, the historic downtown, and area supportive services. Residents have access to an on-site property manager and Peer Specialist, who help address needs and connect residents to services.

Because Commerce Village participates in HUD's HOME program for rental housing and the LIHTC program, at least some of the units in this property are set aside for households earning 60% or less of the AMI and rents are capped at the local FMR and in many cases much lower. Because of the LIHTC program, additional units are set aside for households earning 50% or less of the AMI with corresponding lower rent caps.
