Limited Caroline, Fauquier, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford County; and the City of Fredericksburg, Virginia Section 8 Voucher Waiting List is Closed as of January 2026. The waiting list was last open in March 2021 and remains closed.

The Central Virginia Housing Coalition (CVHC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted on a limited basis for one day only on March 29, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the VH public notice, "The waiting list is only open to applicants that have at least one family member who is between the ages of 18 and 61, has a disability and meets at least one of the following requirements:

• Is transitioning out of an institution or other segregated setting
• Is at serious risk of institutionalization; or
• Is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Residency preference in Caroline, Fauquier, King George, Spotsylvania, Stafford Counties and the City of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
