Monticello Housing Authority Section 8 Voucher Waiting List is Closed as of February 2026. The waiting list was last open in June 2015 and remains closed.

The Monticello Housing Authority (MHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open for one day in June 2015, and before that it was closed on 9/24/2010. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.


According to an article by Time Warner Cable News: Hudson Valley, hundreds waited in line as early as 9:30 pm the night before the waiting list opened. Another article from the Times Herald-Record said that more than 650 people were in line for the 50 available vouchers. 


It went on to explain that applications were put on the waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis, but there was a preference for those who live locally.
