This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Russell and Tazewell County, Virginia.
The Clinch Valley Community Action (CVCA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed. It was last open for one day only on September 25, 2024, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm ET. It was last open in September 2023 before that.
To apply while the waiting list is open, applicants had to complete the online application.
Though the housing authority has not confirmed preferences for this opening and the Section 8 Administrative Plan for Virginia Housing (statewide agency that manages the waiting list for 31 housing authorities) does not list preferences, in 2023, Affordable Housing Online had confirmed a local residency preference. We assume this preference is valid for 2024 also. We believe the waiting list has the following preferences:
In 2023, 300 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences. The housing authority has not verified this and it is not in the Admin Plan. We will keep this updated if we learn more.
For more information visit the CVCA website.
