Low-Income Housing Waiting Lists Open June 24-28, 2024 Banner image.

There are 10 waiting lists for low-income housing that open across the country near the end of June!

Waiting lists are opening for affordable rental housing almost every day next week. Like last week, these waiting lists will be open for Section 8 Vouchers, Project-Based Vouchers, and Public Housing.

These are the waiting lists opening between June 24–28, 2024:

Monday Openings (June 24, 2024)

Greater Richmond Area, Virginia Section 8 Waiting List

First, we start with a big housing authority with openings for different types of affordable housing. The Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waitlist applications from June 24, 2024, until June 28, 2024.

This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in City of Richmond, and also Chesterfield, Hanover, and Henrico County, Virginia.

Richmond, Virginia Public Housing Waiting List

The RRHA will also accept Public Housing waiting list applications during the same timeframe between June 24 and June 28. Both of these waiting lists have an online application to apply.

Richmond, Virginia Senior Project-Based Voucher Waiting List

Additionally, the RRHA will accept Senior Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for three apartment properties on June 24, but this waiting list closes two days earlier on June 26.

Like the other two openings, this waiting list also has an online application.

Wilson County, North Carolina Public Housing Waiting List

Also, the WHA will accept Public Housing waiting list applications at Whitfield Homes, Forrest Road Homes and EB Jordan Homes Apartments from June 24, until June 25, 2024.

There are two ways to apply for this waiting list. Applications can be printed out online, or picked up at four different locations.

Huntsville, Alabama Senior and Disabled Project-Based Voucher Waiting List

Lastly for this day, the Huntsville Housing Authority (HHA) will accept Senior and Disabled Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list applications for 1 and 2-Bedroom apartments at Monrovia Flats from June 24, until June 25, 2024.

An online application must be completed, and waiting list selection will be done by date and time it is received.


Tuesday Openings (June 25, 2024)

Boulder County, Colorado Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

Another big waiting list opening this week is by Boulder Housing Partners, who serve Boulder County. Boulder Housing Partners will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications on a limited basis from June 25, until June 26, 2024.

This is a limited opening "for applicants who are less than 62 years of age and a person with a disability," according to BHP.

Lafayette, Colorado Project-Based Waiting List

Also on Tuesday, the Boulder County Housing Authority (BCHA) will accept Project Based waiting list applications for Willoughby Corner Phase 1 from June 25, 2024, until further notice. This is separate from the Boulder Housing Partners Section 8 waiting list opening.

According to the BCHA, "Phase 1 includes Búho Place (open to those 55 and older), as well as the Sugar Beet House, Peach Tree House Blue Stem Place, and Purple Prairie Place (all of which are open to people of all ages)."


Wednesday Openings (June 26, 2024)

Charleston, South Carolina RAD Project-Based Voucher Waiting List

Moving later into the week, the Housing Authority of the City of Charleston (HACC) will accept Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list applications for 2-bedroom apartments at Project 23 for one day only on June 26, 2024.

This is the first time the waiting list has been open since it closed in February, 2024.


Thursday Openings (June 27, 2024)

North Bay, California Senior and Disabled Public Housing Waiting List

Now into Thursday, the Marin Housing Authority (MHA) will accept Senior and Disabled Public Housing waiting list applications for Studio Apartments at Casa Nova, Golden Hinde, Venetia Oaks, Kruger Pines and Homestead Terrace from June 27, until July 11, 2024.

This waiting list is for Senior and Disabled Public Housing rental housing assistance in Novato, San Rafael and Mill Valley, California.

Panama City, Florida Project-Based Voucher Waiting List

Finishing up the week, the Panama City Housing Authority (PCHA) will accept Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for Fletcher Black Apartments and The Park at Massalina from June 27, 2024, until 100 applications have been received.


Friday Openings (June 28, 2024)

There are no new low-income housing waiting list openings next Friday.
