For our final alert of the week, Affordable Housing Online has three waiting list updates for Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers! Today's alert is for low-income rental housing in western, midwestern, and eastern parts of the country.

These waiting lists were just discovered by our housing experts, and are either open now or will open soon. Make sure you get everything you need to know to apply during the opening period.
Greater Spokane Area, Washington Section 8 Voucher Waiting List
To start it off, the Spokane Housing Authority (SHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from July 30 at 8:00 am, until August 5, 2024, at 5:00 pm PT.
This waiting list is for Section 8 HCV rental housing assistance in Spokane, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Stevens, Ferry, and Whitman, Washington.
The selection process will prioritize applications based on the date and time received and the order of preferences. To apply during the open waitlist period, complete the online application.

Greater Lansing Area, Michigan Section 8 Voucher Waiting List
Also, the Lansing Housing Commission (LHC) will open its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list from July 11 at 12:01 am, until July 17, 2024, at 11:59 pm ET. This marks the first time the list has been open since November 2023.
This waiting list is also for housing in a larger area spanning multiple cities. It is for Section 8 HCV rental housing assistance in Lansing, East Lansing, Holt, Dimondale, Potterville, Charlotte, Mason, Grand Ledge, parts of DeWitt and Williamston, Michigan.
This waiting list includes several preferences, and 500 applicants will be chosen by random lottery according to these preferences. Applications can be submitted online through the LHC website during the specified period.

Englewood, New Jersey Section 8 Voucher Waiting List
As the last update of the week, the Englewood Housing Authority (EHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from July 10 at 8:30 am, until July 24, 2024, at 4:00 pm ET. The EHA is reopening this waiting list for the first time since July 2023.
Applicants must meet specific income qualifications based on household size. The waiting list has one preference, and 300 applicants will be selected by random lottery according to this preference. To apply, complete the online application during the open waitlist period.

These waiting lists open today after being closed for application submissions for a period of time. Most of these openings are only for a limited time, so don't delay if an opportunity is right for you.
