On Juneteenth, Affordable Housing Online has four waiting list updates for Public Housing and Project-Based Vouchers. Our alert on this important day of remembrance is for smaller low-income apartment opportunities in the Northeast and Southeast.

Close Today: Rockland County, New York Project-Based Voucher Waiting Lists
First, the Town of Ramapo Housing Authority (RHA) is accepting Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for Studio and 1-Bedroom Apartments at the Catamount and Pondview sites until June 19, 2024 at 5:00 pm ET.
There are not many spots available for this waiting list. The RHA will select 100 applicants for the Studio waiting list, and 50 applicants for the 1-Bedroom waiting list. Selection will be done by random lottery.

Closes Today: Norfolk, Virginia RAD Project-Based Voucher Waiting List
The other waiting list closing today is by the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA). The NRHA is accepting Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Project Based Voucher (PBV) waiting list applications for 4-Bedroom apartments at North Wellington Apartments until June 19, 2024 at 4:00 pm ET. This is the first time the waiting list has been open since it closed in November, 2019.
The NRHA requires that North Wellington Apartments residents must be employed for 15 hours a week, with exceptions for those with disabilities and who are elderly.

Open Soon: Panama City, Florida Project-Based Voucher Waiting List
With today's first new announcement, the Panama City Housing Authority (PCHA) will accept Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for Fletcher Black Apartments and The Park at Massalina from June 27, 2024 at 8:00 am CT, until 100 applications have been received.
Applications for this waiting list must be submitted online, and there are three preferences.

Opens Soon: Phillipsburg, New Jersey Public Housing Waiting List
The Phillipsburg Housing Authority (PHA) will accept Public Housing waiting list applications for 2, 3 and 4-Bedroom apartments from July 1, 2024, until 50 applications have been received for the 2 and 3-bedroom units and 25 applications for the 4-bedroom units.
This waiting list uses an online application, so it is expected to close shortly after it opens. Also, applicants who are selected for the waiting list will be sorted by date and time the application is received. So, it's very important to apply for this waiting list as soon as possible, after it opens.
