The Reno Housing Authority (RHA) is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher wait list applications from April 15, 2024 at 8:00 am, until May 3, 2024 at 5:00 pm PT. This is the first time the waiting list has been open since it closed in August, 2019.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

• Involuntary Displacement due to PHA action or program regulation
• Residency: Live, work or have graduated from or are currently enrolled in an education or training program that is located in Washoe County.
• Elderly or Disabled
• Lease in Place: Applicants who currently live in Washoe County
• Homeless
• Graduate of Permanent Supportive Housing: Applicants who provide documentation showing successful completion of a Permanent Supportive Housing Program in Washoe County within the last 6 months will be given preference.
• Veterans

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

• Essex Manor - Located off Golden Valley exit & 395 North. 2 and 3-Bedroom Apartments.
• Stead Manor - Located off Stead Blvd /Stead Airport exit & 395 N. 2 and 3-Bedroom Apartments.
• Mineral Manor - Located off Wells Ave and 9 th St. 1, 2, 3 and 4-Bedroom Apartments.
• Myra Birch Manor - Located off Neil Rd. 2-Bedroom Apartments.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

• Non-subsidized: applicants who are not currently receiving any form of subsidized housing.
• Residency: Currently reside in Washoe County, work or have recently been hired to work at a job located in Washoe County, Have graduated from or are currently enrolled in an education or training program that is located in Washoe County and is designed to prepare them for the job market.
