Since this property is a HOME program property that might not have a project based rental assistance contract, it is likely that it either has no waiting list or the waiting list is shorter than properties with rental assistance. You should contact the property to verify.
Note: Affordable Housing Online has not confirmed the waiting list status directly with the property. This waiting list status forecast is based on our housing experts' knowledge of similar properties. You should always confirm this status directly with the property.
Leidig Court Apartments, developed by Eden Housing in partnership with the cities of Hayward, Fremont, and San Leandro as well as the County of Alameda provides 16 affordable homes for families in the City of Hayward. This rehabilitated development provides one, two, and three bedroom homes affordable to families and households earning at or below 50-60 percent of the Alameda County Area Median Income.
Families have access to supportive resident services at no cost, as well as access to on-site amenities including gated parking, a dedicated storage space for each unit, on-site laundry, protected access entry system and a large community courtyard. This centrally located property is within walking distance of shopping centers and public transportation. Residents benefit from cost savings with green features such as new light fixtures and water efficient landscaping, toilets, and faucets.
Because Leidig Court Apartments participates in HUD's HOME program for rental housing, at least some of the units in this property are set aside for persons at or below 60% of the AMI and rents are capped at the local FMR and in many cases much lower. As this property appears not to have a project-based subsidy or any other Federal assistance, you likely will have to pay your own rent, albeit, at a lower rent amount thanks to the HOME program. Since this property participates in the HOME program, the property is required to accept Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.

Applying for housing with bad credit.
Most HUD housing programs, like Section 8 and Public Housing, do not have a credit check. But Section 8 landlords will likely require one for an available unit.Eileen Savarese says:
