All new members as of March 23, 2016 are not allowed to smoke inside their own apartment.
Gratiot Woods' members have the opportunity to engage in numerous social activities. Do not miss out on bingo, gardening, card playing, or Nintendo Wii bowling. Although members here have the best pot-lucks and BBQ’s in Michigan, there are also many catered events and numerous social engagements which provide opportunities to be a part of this active community. Gratiot Woods is pet friendly. The pet has to be 20 lbs. or under, and a pet deposit is required.
Gratiot Woods is conveniently located within Detroit’s historic area, only blocks away from easy freeway access via Gratiot and I94 intersection. Only minutes from the Detroit casinos and all of the wonderful dining experiences waiting to be enjoyed there.
Living in a co-op means living in a building that is controlled by the resident members. The resident members vote on all major operating decisions, including writing the annual budget. The membership also includes privileges such as serving in elected or appointed positions, voting in co-op elections, CSI board elections, corporate bylaw changes or other matters coming before the members. Resident members have the opportunity to attend many different functions throughout the year, including the CSI annual luncheon. Becoming part of a CSI co-op allows you to enjoy the benefits of apartment living while retaining control of your environment.

Since this property was built using funding through HUD's Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly program, residency is restricted to persons who earn 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) or less. Like other rental assistance programs like Section 8, resident's rents are based on their income and the tenant contribution is set at 30% of the tenants income.
