Phoenix Crossing Apartments Waiting List

The Housing Works Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list for Studio and 1-Bedroom apartments at Phoenix Crossing Apartments is currently open.

Housing Works last accepted applications for this waiting list from August 15, 2022, until August 25, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to print the paper application.

Once the application was completed, it was either:

Dropped off in person at the Housing Works office.
Faxed to Housing Works.
Emailed to Housing Works.

The maximum income limits for each household size were available on the public notice.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

Those who live or work in Deschutes, Crook, or Jefferson County.
Applicants receiving services from Full Access for person(s) with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or Saving Grace for victims of domestic violence.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.

Phoenix Crossing provides affordable studio and one-bedroom apartments for vulnerable populations in our community. The location offers convenient access to parks, walking trails, shopping and commercial services, job opportunities, and public transportation. The sustainable and energy efficient features used in the building provide a comfortable living environment for the residents as well as save them money on utility costs.

Dave's Thoughts On Phoenix Crossing Apartments

Because Phoenix Crossing Apartments participates in HUD's HOME program for rental housing, at least some of the units in this property are set aside for households at or below 60% of the AMI and rents are capped at the local FMR and in many cases much lower. For a project of this size, some of the units are set aside for households at or below 50% AMI with a corresponding lower rent cap. As this property appears not to have a project-based subsidy or any other Federal assistance, you likely will have to pay your own rent, albeit, at a lower rent amount thanks to the HOME program. Since this property participates in the HOME program, the property is required to accept Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.
