The Vermilion Housing Authority (VHA) is accepting Public Housing waiting list applications since at least November, 2020, until further notice.

Please note: According to the VHA "Online applications for Low-Income Public Housing will not be accessible the week of March 13 - March 17, 2023. If you would like to apply, you may download and print an application or obtain one from our administrative building during this week. "

There are two ways to apply during the opening period:

  • VeteranHead of household has served in the United States Armed Forces and who was discharged or released from such service under conditions other than dishonorable
  • WorkingHead/Spouse/Co-head work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week
  • ElderlyHead/Spouse/Co-head is 62 years or older
  • DisabledHead/Spouse/Co-head is disabled
  • Displaced by Natural DisasterFire, flood, earthquake or other federally declared disaster that has caused the unit to be uninhabitable
  • Displaced by Domestic ViolenceDisplaced by domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking

It is not known how selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list.
