Entering the last full week of July, Affordable Housing Online has five updates for Section 8, Project-Based Voucher, and more waiting lists!
Opportunities are available in many different parts of the country, including a statewide opening!

These waiting lists open today after being closed for a period of time. Most of these openings are only for a limited time, so don't delay if an opportunity is right for you.
Kentucky Regional Section 8 Waiting List
Starting the week off with a big opening, the Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHA) will open its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list for applications from July 22, 2024, at 9:00 am to July 26, 2024, at 5:00 pm ET. This marks the first time the list has been open since January 2022.
The KHA opening is for Section 8 HCV rental assistance in almost every county in the state. Warren, Hardin, and Daviess County are among the 85 counties served by this program throughout the state.
Applicants must complete the online application available on the KHA website during the specified dates.

Prineville, Oregon Project Based Voucher Waiting List
Moving to a different voucher program, Housing Works will open the Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list for Barned Butte Vista Apartments from July 22, 2024, at 8:00 am to July 26, 2024, at 5:00 pm PT.
This property, located in Prineville, OR, offers 2 and 3-bedroom units. Applicants must meet income limits specified on the Housing Works Info Sheet page.
The waiting list has five preferences for various groups, including residents and workers in certain counties, survivors of domestic violence, and homeless veterans. Applicants will be selected through a random lottery, weighted by preferences. To apply, print and submit the application via drop-off, fax, or email.

Cleveland, Tennessee Project Based Rental Assistance Waiting List
The Cleveland Housing Authority (CHA) will accept Project Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) waiting list applications for 3-bedroom apartments starting July 22, 2024, at 10:00 am ET, until 25 applications have been received.
This is expected to be open for a very short period of time. Applicants must complete the online application when the waiting list opens.

These waiting lists opened on a previous day and are scheduled to close today. Even though a number of applications have already been submitted, it is still possible to qualify for these waiting lists.
New Orleans, Louisiana Senior Project Based Voucher Waiting List
As the one closure today, the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) will close the Senior Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list for H3C Apartments on July 22, 2024, at 4:00 pm CT.
H3C Apartments is designated for individuals aged 55 and older. Applications are accepted online, with waiting list selection based on the date and time the application is received.

Somersworth, New Hampshire Section 8 Voucher Waiting List
Last is a waiting list opening just discovered by our housing experts that is now closing soon. If this an opportunity that's right for you, make sure you get an application in as soon as possible.
The Somersworth Housing Authority (SHA) will accept applications for its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list from July 17, 2024, to July 24, 2024.
The SHA does not have any preferences for its waiting list, which is not usual for many Section 8 waiting lists. This means that all applicants have an equal chance of being placed on the waiting list.
Selected applications will be processed based on the date and time they are received. Applications can submitted in person, by mail, or fax.
