The Jackson County Housing Authority (JCHA) Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications will be accepted from December 16, 2019, until January 14, 2020. According to the JCHA, this waiting list is, "specifically for non-elderly person[s] with disabilities (age 18-or less than 62 years of age) who are transitioning out of institutional or other segregated settings, at risk of institutionalization, homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless...Pre-applications will need to be accompanied with a referral letter from a partnering agency."
Section 8 vouchers can be moved to another area.
Once certain conditions are met, a Section 8 voucher may be transferred to another area (known as "porting").Dale Brown says:
