New Waiting List Announcements
Norfolk, VA Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from April 12, 2022 at 9:00 am, until April 14, 2022 at 4:00 pm ET.
Kandiyohi County, MN Limited Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Kandiyohi County Housing and Redevelopment Authority will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications on a limited basis from April 6, 2022 at 8:00 am, until August 31, 2022 at 4:30 pm CT.
Monroe County, IN Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Bloomington Housing Authority will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from April 26, 2022 at 12:00 pm ET, until further notice.

Multi-City, GA Project-Based Voucher Waiting List
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs will accept Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list for apartments at multiple properties from April 6, 2022 at 12:00 am, until further notice.

Sarasota County, FL Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Sarasota Housing Authority is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from April 1, 2022 at 12:00 pm, until April 18, 2022 at 12:00 pm ET.
Multi-County, NC Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Economic Improvement Council, Inc will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Camden, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hyde, and Tyrrell County from April 13, 2022 at 8:30 am ET, until the maximum number of applications have been received for each county.
Brattleboro, VT Mainstream Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Brattleboro Housing Authority will accept Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from April 4, 2022, until further notice. According to the BHA, applicants must be “under 62 years old, have a disability or disabled household member and be previously homeless and currently in a supported housing program.”
Erie County, NY Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Rental Assistance Corporation of Buffalo will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from April 11, 2022 at 10:00 am, until May 6, 2022 at 3:00 pm ET.
Henry County, and the City of Martinsville, VA Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Henry County, and the City of Martinsville will be accepted from April 1, 2022, until April 30, 2022.
Jasper, Lake, LaPorte, Newton, Porter, Pulaski, and Starke County, IN Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Northwest Indiana Community Action (NICA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Jasper, Lake (excludes within the city limits of Gary), LaPorte (excludes within the city limits of Michigan City), Newton, Porter, Pulaski, and Starke County will be accepted from April 11, 2022 at 9:00 am, until April 15, 2022 at 3:00 pm CT.
Aitkin and Mille Lacs County, MN Limited Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Aitkin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications on a limited basis from March 21, 2022 at 1:00 pm CT, until further notice.
Sandusky County, OH Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Sandusky Metropolitan Housing Authority is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from March 21, 2022 at 8:00 am, until April 21, 2022 at 4:30 pm ET
Terrell, TX Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Terrell Housing Department will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from March 21, 2022 at 9:00 am, until April 18, 2022 at 5:00 pm CT.
Yorktown Area, NY Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Town of Yorktown will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from April 28, 2022 at 12:01 am, until April 29, 2022 at 11:59 pm ET.
Bucks County, PA Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Bucks County Housing Authority (BCHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from March 14, 2022, until further notice.
Multi-County, TX Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Central Texas Council of Governments (CTCOG) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from January 31, 2022 at 8:00 am CT, until further notice.
Milwaukee, WI Section 8 HCV, PBV, and Public Housing Waiting Lists
The Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, Section 8 Project-Based Voucher, and Public Housing waiting list applications from December 15, 2021 at 9:00 am CT, until further notice.
More Housing Opportunities
If there are no Section 8 HCV openings in your area, there are more waiting lists that are open now or opening soon in other areas. You can apply to open waiting lists in different areas of the country.
There are also many other opportunities available for low-income housing. Apartment properties operated by housing authorities and private management companies have income-based or affordable monthly rent rates. If there are no open waiting lists in your area, there may be open waiting lists in nearby cities and counties.
Applying for affordable housing can be difficult at times. It is important to be familiar with the requirements and qualifications before applying. Knowing these policies helps make these programs easier to understand.
