The Alto Housing Authority (AHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from September 1, 2023, until December 31, 2023.  There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply while the waiting list was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Elderly
  • Disabled (Government disability proof.)
  • Household member must have employment that is consecutive and with the same employer for more than 6 months
  • Must live in Cherokee County for a minimum of 6 months prior to their application date

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
