The site is owned by the City of San Jose and they have provided it to the project under a 75-year ground lease for $1 per year.
Ford Road Plaza will be developed using the latest green building techniques and materials, including solar hot water, and is designed to score over 140 points on Build it Greens GreenPoint Rating system. Onsite amenities will include a large community room with a full kitchen, a lounge area, a computer learning center, a large courtyard with a barbecue area, two tot lots, and a community garden. Through Edens free Resident Services, families of Ford Road Plaza will benefit from technology training, financial literacy classes, community involvement, green education, health, wellness, and safety programs.
Endorsed by Greenbelt Alliance, this development is ideally located near a major shopping center plus a wealth of transportation choices such as the Blossom Hill Caltrain station, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) bus stop, and the nearby VTA light rail Cottle Station.
