In today's alert, Affordable Housing Online has six waiting list updates for Section 8 Vouchers and Public Housing! Today's alert is for low-income rental housing in the west and southeast.

This is your affordable housing waiting list alert for Tuesday, July 16, 2024:

Waiting Lists Opening July 16

These waiting lists open today after being closed for application submissions for a period of time. Most of these openings are only for a limited time, so don't delay if an opportunity is right for you.

Colorado Springs, Colorado Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

Starting with a big opening in the west, the Colorado Springs Housing Authority (CSHA) is opening its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list for applications from July 16, 2024, at 12:00 pm until July 18, 2024, at 12:00 pm MT.

This marks the first reopening since July 2023. Applicants will be selected by a random lottery, prioritizing those who live or work in El Paso County. Applications must be completed online, with options available for Spanish speakers on the CSHA website.

Waiting Lists Announced July 16

These waiting lists were just discovered by our housing experts, and are currently open or will open soon. Make sure you get everything you need to know to apply during the opening period.

Albuquerque, New Mexico Section 8 Voucher Waiting Lists

Another big Section 8 opening announcement today is for the Albuquerque Housing Authority (AHA). The AHA has opened its waiting list for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, Mainstream Voucher, and Non-Elderly Disabled Voucher programs.

To qualify for a Mainstream and Non-Elderly Disabled Voucher, the household must meet the qualifications as stated by the AHA.

Applications will be accepted from July 15, 2024, at 12:00 am until August 15, 2024, at 11:59 pm MT. This is the first HCV reopening since June 2023.

Applicants will be selected by a random lottery, with preferences given to certain groups. To apply for any of these waiting lists, applications must be submitted online.

Bladen County, North Carolina Public Housing Waiting List

One more opening announcement is that the Bladen and Bladenboro Housing Authorities are accepting applications for their 3, 4, and 5-bedroom Public Housing waiting list from July 15, 2024, until August 15, 2024.

This is the first time the waiting list has been open since March 2023. Applications must be submitted online. After applying, selected households will be placed on the waiting list based on the date and time their application is received.

Waiting Lists Closing July 16

These waiting lists opened on a previous day and are scheduled to close today. Even though a number of applications have already been submitted, it is still possible to qualify for these waiting lists.

Savannah, Georgia Senior and Disabled Public Housing Waiting List

The Housing Authority of Savannah (HAS) will stop accepting applications for its Senior and Disabled Public Housing waiting list for 1-bedroom apartments at Stillwell Towers today, July 16, 2024, at 4:30 pm ET. This is the first time the waiting list has reopened since May 2023.

Stillwell Towers offers one-bedroom units to persons 62 years and older and/or persons with disabilities.

The selection process will place applicants on the waiting list by the date and time their application is received, with preferences affecting placement once confirmed. Applications must be completed online while the waitlist is open.
